Late Victorian Amethyst and Diamond Brooch/Pendant

£4,750.00

A late Victorian amethyst and diamond pendant, circa 1880, designed as a stylised starburst centred with an oval-cut amethyst of rich violet hue, estimated to weigh approximately 3.20 carats, surrounded by a radiating cluster of old-cut and rose-cut diamonds totalling around 2.00 carats. The diamonds are set in silver over gold, typical of the period, enhancing their soft brilliance and contrast against the deep purple gemstone. Suspended from a diamond-set bale, this elegant piece exemplifies the romantic opulence and intricate craftsmanship of late 19th-century jewellery.
